SUBJECT - MISSION & EVANGELISM // LESSON – 4 // THE IMPORTANCE OF EVANGELISM //
LESSON – 4
THE IMPORTANCE OF
EVANGELISM
1. It is God's Command/
Mark.5:19;
Lk.14.23;
Matt.4:23;
Acts.1:8
2. Sinners are
Perishing/
Psa.9:17
Rev.20.15;
Mark. 16:16
Jn.3:36).
3. Love of God
constrains (compels) us
A saved person always has the desire to see others also saved.
Romans.9:3,
Three years Paul warned each of Ephesian believers day and night with tears.
4. Our positions urge
us to evangelize
We are ambassadors of Christ, and Jesus has given entrusted to us the
ministry of reconciliation.
An Ambassador is an official
representative of a kingdom, in a foreign land, in order to carry out the affairs
of his land in a foreign country.
We have to reconcile the people of
hell to God as a representative in this land (Lk.24.47).
5. The nature of the
Gospel requires it.
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for
salvation". (Rom.1:16).
Only the gospel of Christ can save people. It is the only remedy for the
sinful men.
6. The Field is calling
us/ फसल बलु ा रह है
“Do you not say... they are ripe for harvest (Jn.4”35).
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few... harvest field
(Matt.9:37, 38).
Out of 1.5 billion Indian population, only 2.6% (possibly 4%) are
Christians.
This statistics clearly shows us a vast field is waiting for the harvest.
7. Time is challenging
us/ समय चनु ौती दे रहा है
Jn.9:4;
Rom.13:12
Time is running fast towards the end. End of this age is very near. Christ
will come back at any time; we are accountable for each minute.
8. Jesus sets an example
for us to follow.
“For the son of man come to seek and to save what was lost”
Lk.19:10;
Matt.9:35-38’
Jn.4:4; Mr.2:14).
We also have to follow the methods of our Lord and Master in evangelism.
